Reelection for Mayor of Miami Beach

Community Issues:

Campaign to encourage greater participation by Hispanic voters in Miami Beach. The purpose of this campaign was to prove that Hispanic voters could gain representation in the city government of Miami Beach. As a result, 49% of the electorate voted for Hispanic candidates Matti Bower and Ada Llerandi. This proved to be the first step toward a significant trend that lead to the subsequent victories of Miami Beach City Commissioners Simón Cruz and Joe Smith.
